Some basic tips:
judging Standards
Article II, Section I of our chapter bylaws, lifted word for word from MAFCA’s, states that “The purpose of this club shall be: To serve as a medium for the exchange of ideas, information, specialty tools and parts for admirers of the Model A Ford car, and to aid them in their efforts to restore and preserve the car in its original likeness.”
To further this worthy goal, MAFCA created the Standards Committee who, along with members of the Model A Restorers Club, published a book called “Model A Ford Judging Standards and Restoration Guidelines”, better known as the JS. This treasure trove of arcane but useful information is available to everyone, and is a bargain.
The Sonoma A’s are fortunate to have several MAFCA-certified senior judges in our ranks who can help answer members’ questions about originality and correctness to your specific model year and body style.
